Howard Hawks, nado el 30 de mayo de 1896 , fallecido el 26 de diciembre de 1977 , fue un director, escritor y produtor cinematográfico estadounidense. Trabajó en diferentes géneros como cine negro, películas del oeste y comedias, entre otras películas premiadas con premios Óscar, entre otros galardóns, aunque él persoalmente sólo tuvo un Óscar honorífico en 1975.

Biografía

Nació en Goshen, Indiana y murió en Palm Springs, California. Casó tres veces, la primera con Athole Shearer (1928- 1940), la segunda con Nancy Gross (1941-1947) y la tercera con Dee Hartford (1953-1959), con sus tres subsecuentes divorcios.

Antes de entrar en el mundo del cine fue piloto de aeroplano y corredor de coches. En Red Line 7000 homenaxea este mundo de las carreras de coches.
